3DMAX and OpTic have topped the second open qualifier for IEM Sydney to round out the team list of the closed stage.

Over 300 teams signed up for the second European open qualifier for IEM Sydney, including a number of well-known teams such as OpTic, Gambit, FURIA, HEROIC, Virtus.pro, and more.

The top side of the bracket saw Marco "⁠Snappi⁠" Pfeiffer's men survive a couple of close matches against Filip "⁠NEO⁠" Kubski's mixture called 2k19PL and passions en route to the semi-finals, where the Danes met Gambit to fight for one of the two spots in the closed qualifier.

OpTic edged out Mihail "⁠Dosia⁠" Stolyarov & co., putting up a couple of great defensive sides to clinch Dust2 after going the distance, 16-14, and Mirage 16-11 to advance to the next stage.

On the other side, expert surprised by making it all the way to the semi-finals, where they clashed with 3DMAX, who had defeated teams like Copenhagen Flames beforehand. The French side prevailed in the deciding series, taking down the Germans 16-12 on Nuke and 16-13 on Mirage to make it through.
